Alpha Course

Life is Worth Exploring

A man chatting on alpha

Friendly atmosphere where you can ask any questions you want

Guests come on the Alpha course for many different reasons; some want to investigate whether God exists and some have questions they’d like to discuss. Many guests have never been to church and others may have attended church but feel they have never had a personal understanding of the Christian faith.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in an informal, fun and friendly environment.

The Alpha course consists of a series of talks, looking at topics including ‘Who is Jesus?’ and ‘Why and how do I pray?’, with the option of a weekend day away. Each week has a standard format. We meet for supper, and each talk is followed by discussion in small groups.

We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome, wherever you’re starting from.

Alpha runs every Tuesday for eleven weeks. You don’t have to sign up for the whole course straight away – just pop along for the first night and see what you think.

No pressure.

Okay, I am interested. What next?

We run an evening Alpha Course at St John’s Church. Each evening begins at around 7pm, and is usually finished by 9.30pm.

The dates for our next three courses are as follows:

2013 15th January to 26th March
2013 24th September to 3rd December
