WElcome Leaflet imageFirst time visitor to this site? then welcome to St John’s Church!

We aim to make international visitors and students feel at home among us.

You are welcome to attend the regular Sunday worship services, and also other church activities during the week.  We welcome people of all faiths or none. Services are at 9.15am; 11am and 6.30pm (one morning service at 10am during the school summer holiday).

On Sundays there is a ‘Meet and Greet’ area in the Main Hall where you will be welcomed and can find out more about St John’s Church.  Alternatively please speak to one of the Welcome Team as you arrive at church.

There are also some meetings and events which are more suited to internationals students and visitors.
Please read about these below…

FELLOWSHIP GROUPS (Wednesdays & Thursdays)

St John’s has small mid-week groups called Home Groups.  These provide an opportunity for Christians to meet together in a home for fellowship, social events, bible study and prayer.   There are two or three which extend a special welcome to internationals and these provide an opportunity to meet with both British people and other internationals.

The groups normally meet from 8pm – 10pm on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Transport can often be provided. If you would like to join a mid-week small group please email Ruth Hassall or the Church Office, or telephone 0121 427 4601.

EXPLORING CHRISTIANITY Bible Study Group (Tuesdays)

This group is especially designed for international students who have had little or no experience of the Christian faith but who are interested to find out more about the teaching of the Bible, about the person of Jesus and about the Christian faith.

These are short evening courses lasting 6 to 8 weeks on Tuesday evenings from 8pm to 10 pm in the home of one of the church members who lives near the church. For more details please contact Patty McCulloch

No previous knowledge is required and the meetings are relaxed and informal with an opportunity to ask questions.
