Can we offer the complete Christmas story?

To give the full story about the first Christmas to 500 primary school, we need your help please. We currently still need more actors to complete the casts for the Christmas Tour: four more actors for Thursday 30 November; three more for Friday 1 December and two more for Saturday. Without them, who do we cut out of the story? The wisepeople and Herod on Thursday? A couple of shepherds and Gabriel on Friday? Mary and Joseph on Saturday?

If you are new to St John’s and need a bit more explanation….. The Christmas Tour is a nativity play with a difference. One key difference is that the performance is by adults and watched by primary school children rather than vice versa. Another difference is that the ‘audience’ doesn’t sit and watch, instead the audience travels back in time and is guided by a lead character from the nativity story through scenes which are performed in different parts of our church building. Each tour lasts 30 minutes. On Thursday and Friday the audiences are from local primary schools. On Saturday performances are open to all.

If you want to join our vision and mission to reach some of the 95% of children in the UK who have no church contact and you are willing to act – please join the Christmas Tour team. If you can act all 3 days – that’s great. But if you can just do Thursday and/or Friday or only Saturday we can still use you.

Actors will be gathering for a team building and script reading event this Sunday, 8th October, in the Church Hall from 2pm to 4pm. Rehearsals will be the 4 Sunday afternoons in November.

If you are eager or even mildly interested please email Jeremy Thompson at christmastour@stjohnsharborne.org

If acting is not your ‘thing’, please pray that we will find the acting teams we need.
