PRAYER IS REQUESTED FOR

People in our fellowship who are ill but not mentioned by name in the list below.

Ruth Spalton
Please pray for the family and friends of Ruth Spalton who died peacefully at Bryony House, Selly Oak on Sunday 2nd July. Ruth was 105 years old. There will be a funeral service for Ruth at St John’s Church at 12.30pm on Monday 24th July followed by refreshments.

Thomasina Price
Please pray for healing for Thomasina who has been in the QEHB for the past four weeks.

Mrs Eileen Fowler (mother of Charles Fowler)
Give thanks that Eileen has now returned to her home at Lench’s Trust following her recovery from a broken hip. Do continue to pray for the family as there are some complications that need to be worked through.

Sid Ball (father of Sarah Ball)
Please pray for Sid as he attends an upcoming hospital appointment and for the professionals who will be making decisions about appropriate treatment. Please also pray for Sarah for energy and for healing as she struggles with ME.

Jean Evans (friend of Rosemary Kennedy)
Rosemary writes: “I would like to thank St Johns for their effective prayers for my Christian friend Jean, in Cardiff. She is doing very well. The hospital was astonished how well she had done after the first treatment. She is still progressing very well, but the Chemo has knocked her back and she hasn’t been too good this week. Please pray that she lives longer than the three months and even that there is healing.”

Christiane Neumann
Christiane values our ongoing prayer as she works towards being fitter and healthier following her cancer treatment. Pray too that there will be no spread of the cancer.

Trudi Brass
Please pray for Trudi, for speedy recovery following a spinal operation on Tuesday 27th June.

Pete Robinson (friend of Trudi Brass)
Please pray for Pete who is suffering from a recurrent episode of bipolar disorder. Please pray for a speedy recovery for him and support for his wife and young daughter at this difficult time. Please pray for his medical team as they try to relocate him to be nearer to his family in Birmingham, he is currently being cared for in Manchester.

Margaret Ball (mother of Sarah Ball)
Sarah thanks us for our prayers for Margaret who sadly passed away on Saturday 3rd June. Sarah gives thanks that the family are at peace knowing that Margaret is now with the Lord and asks for our ongoing prayers for herself and her family at this time.

Elizabeth Brown (mother of Helen Van Vliet)
Helen writes: “Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my Mum, Elizabeth. She has made a miraculous recovery and is now at home. She can walk with a stick, and is working towards a complete recovery. Please continue to pray for perseverance and courage as she works at rebuilding her strength, and that she would be able to sleep well, and join with us in praising God for His clear hand in all of this.”

Sue Clegg
Sue would appreciate our ongoing prayers as she is still unable to see clearly.  Sue writes: “Although frustrating, we believe it`s a matter of time and continued healing process following the operation.”

Parents of Andrea Mason
Andrea asks for prayer for both of her parents, both of whom are in their 80’s.  Please pray especially for Andrea’s Mum as she is her Father’s main carer.  Please continue to pray that they can access the right services that they need during this difficult time.

Lesley Osborn
Lesley Osborn on renal dialysis. Lesley sends her thanks for your prayers which are much appreciated.

Asher Sinclair (1 year)
Pray for Asher for his medical team as they try to work out the best way to stop his heart from arresting. Pray for his parents David and Helen, his sister Erin, and his grandparents Will and Jo Drever. Asher is at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

PLEASE ALSO PRAY FOR

Older members of our congregation especially for people with dementia and those who care for them.

Carers in our church family who are looking after those who are ill or in need of on-going care.

Housebound members of our fellowship, and those in nursing homes.

Those who can no longer attend church for a variety of reasons.

PCC members as they serve the church in 2017-2018.

St John’s Buildings Project Steering Group as they meet fortnightly to discuss, plan and pray about our future building project.

Ben Baker, Sean Clancy and Mark Roper as they train for ordained ministry.
