‘It shouldn’t happen to a Christian Aid Collector!’ and how much St John’s collected…

Dave and Angie AtkingsChristian Aid Week 2015

Dave and Angie Atkins have sent us the results from St John’s House to House collection in Christian Aid Week.

A big thank you to all those of you who were involved in Christian Aid Week this year.

We had a total of 37 collectors and raised £2685.23!

In addition to this the Friday Night Club raised £102.29 by buying cakes and paying to play a variety of games, so a big thank you to them too.

This gives a grand total of £2787.52 which is slightly higher than last year. Some of the money collected was Gift Aided so the total should exceed £3000.

Thanks also to those of you who delivered envelopes including Pathfinders and Rangers. This was a great help to many of the collectors.

Thanks also to the team of 10 counters.  The money all balanced and was ‘spot on’ when banked.

Christian Aid Week next year is May 15th – 21st – put it in your diaries now!!!!

Christian Aid Collectors

Dave and Angie have pointed us to a page on the Christian Aid website entitled:   It shouldn’t happen to a Christian Aid Collector – which has some interesting anecdotes…

This is a must read for all of those involved in our house to house collections!

The focus of Christian Aid’s fundraising for Christian Aid week this year was to purchase cows for families living in Africa so that they can become more independent and work their way out of poverty.
