Jon says ‘thank you for praying for us at Soul Survivor’

TattzHi all

Just to say a huge thank you for praying for us at Soul Survivor this year.

It was easily the best year I’ve been involved with in terms of campsite community, God working in teenagers lives, and the weather!

There were so many highlights it is hard to know where to begin.

Perhaps most importantly we had at least commitments to Jesus and many more moments where the Spirit was powerfully meeting and moving amongst our young people.

Freedom issues were dealt with, and for some God powerfully broke into lives in a new and dynamic way. Some of the youth particularly felt moved to be more visible in our witness for Jesus and sharing his love with the world – this has meant a real interest in our ‘day of kindness’ which will take place at the end of August.

We all enjoyed going to see Archbishop Justin Welby, who came to speak and lead communion for the whole site.

There was also a real interest in understanding more about the work of Open Doors, and we invited them to come and have tea with us one day, and asked them to speak to the youth as we ate, about how we could help and stand with our persecuted brothers and sisters.

There were also some really funny and great bonding moments around the campsite, and good health was enjoyed by most. The weather was simply incredible, and the leaders operated with great skill, dedication and devotion to each other and the teenagers. There were some tears – mostly from me and Jennie – when the youth decided to pray for us as we move on. They also decided to face paint me as a flamingo!

There is so much more I could say, but I will need some time to let it sink in a bit. I hope to get some of the youth to share some stories on a Sunday.

Thanks once again for standing with us in prayer – God really is so so so good to us.

Bless ya, Jon
