School Years 7-9

Sunday Mornings

Pathfinders meet most Sundays during the 9.15am service except on the first Sunday of the month, which is a ‘Canvas’ service. In the early part of the service we head over to the studio at Harborne Primary School and return to church by the end of the service. During our time together we build friendships, look at what the Bible has to say, ask the questions buzzing round our heads, and play lots of games.

Small Groups

Each school year also has their own small group, which runs mid-week during term time. These give more space to explore Jesus, share life and eat food! Please e-mail our Youth Pastor Mark Watson for more information (markwatson@stjohnsharborne.org).  Click to download a Consent Form (required for each Pathfinder).

Year 7 – Wednesday (Led by Jon Mould, Bev Reynolds and Tom Nelson)
Year 8 – Tuesday (Led by Nathan and Jenny Burden and Cassie Beeson)
Year 9 – Wednesday (Led by Cath and Jez Baldock and Alex Robertson)

Pathfinder Revolution

Revolution is a time for all of those in Pathfinders to get together twice a term on a Wednesday evening instead of small groups. There is cake and games alongside interactive and creative worship, teaching and prayer. It runs at St John’s from 7.30-8.30pm (see term card for dates).

Hub

On the 1st Sunday of the month all the youth meet in the Upper Room at St John’s Church from 5.15-6.15 before the evening service. It’s a great time to enjoy pizza, games and hang out before going into the 6.30pm service together.

Weekends Away

Once a year both Pathfinder and Authentic groups have their own weekend away. These are brilliant opportunities to laugh lots, have fun, build memories and delve deeper into God as we hear from guest speakers and spend time together in worship and prayer. They are always a highlight of the year!

Mission

We aim to do something regularly to love our community and express God’s heart for all people.  This could be anything from litter picks in the local area and gardening for people who are unable to do it themselves; to raising money for different charities and people.
