St John’s Women’s Ministry aims to encourage and empower women to flourish in God’s goodness and purpose.
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water…
Jeremiah 17: 7 –8a (NLT)
We are committed to arranging events and meetings which offer help, encouragement and friendship to women in the midst of busy lives:
Saturday Breakfasts are arranged twice a year held in the Main Worship Area, starting at 8.45am until 11.00am (arrival from 8.15am). The breakfasts provide an opportunity for women of all ages within SJ to meet with others, share a delicious breakfast followed by a time of worship, teaching or testimony.
In 2013 the Breakfasts are on 2nd March and 2nd November.
CONNECT……Friday Evenings
A new programme for 2013! This is a free event with light refreshments available from 7.15pm, commencing at 7.45pm, finishing at 9.30pm. An opportunity for time to meet and ‘connect’ with other women for fellowship, teaching, testimony, prayer and refreshment!
In 2013 Connect is on 21st June and 11th October.
A Women’s Day Conference is being held on Saturday 20th April 2013.
Details of forthcoming events are shown on the right and will also be advertised at church. An ‘Events Card’ for 2013 is available. For further details please contact any member of the Women’s Ministry team or email womensministry@stjohns-church.co.uk
Midweek groups and activities
We have a variety of weekly and occasional events specifically tailored for the needs of women…
Digging Deeper
Digging Deeper is a daytime Bible Study group (without crèche facilities) for women, meeting fortnightly on Monday afternoons at church. Members of the group commit to preparing for each session using study books. Leadership of the studies is shared round the group. New members are always welcome! For further details, please contact Patty McCulloch or via The Church Office.
International Women Groups
There are groups specifically for International Women: CAMEO (Come And Meet Each Other); and ‘Afternoon at Jill’s’. For further details please follow link to: Internationals
Midway
Midway is a group of women aged 40+, which meets on second and fourth Thursdays from 2:00-3:30pm at church for Bible Study and fellowship. Occasional social events are also organised. For further details, please contact The Church Office or pick up a term programme at church.
Talk Together
There are seven different talk together groups which meet during the week in homes. Six groups meet each weekday morning; one meets on the church premises (three offer crèche facilities). There is an evening group which meets on alternate Tuesday’s.
The groups provide friendship, Bible teaching and prayer as well as opportunity for socializing and fun. Various special events are arranged from time to time which include retreats, meals together and conferences. For further details, please contact Pat Brydon or via The Church Office.
Bible Meditation Groups
The aim of the groups is to know Jesus better and to be enabled to share his love. Meetings are weekly on Thursday mornings and alternate Fridays in term time. After a brief introduction, time is given to listening to what God is saying through a Bible passage followed by a period of quiet, sharing and praying.
For further details, please contact Elizabeth Vale, June Fluck, Gill McIlwaine (Thursday group) or Lesley Moore (Friday group) via The Church Office.
No crèche available.
If you wish to receive further details please email womensministry@stjohns-church.co.uk or complete a Women’s Ministry Leaflet, available at Church in the Main Foyer.
