Stephen’s father died when he was seven years old. Until he left home to study Physics at University in 1977, he lived alone with his phobic mother.

Before he was nine years old, Stephen had found God at a little Pentecostal church in Goole. It was in the same place that he found a wife and in 1983 he married Pauline. Stephen & Pauline had four children, Elizabeth, Melody, Arielle & Rocky.

Rocky’s life is a story in itself, as he died after a long battle with cancer aged seven in June 2001. In 2010 Stephen published his popular book At Least It’s Not Raining that tells this story.

Stephen spent over 20 years in Retail Management. Since 2003 he has worked full-time ministering from the Ark Church in York.

Stephen carries ministerial credentials from Ground Level, is a Presbyter of the order of St Leonard and has a Masters Degree in Practical Theology.

Stephen is a distinctive communicator, and tries to make the message as simple as possible. Usually he will make you laugh, sometimes he will make you cry, always he will challenge you.Ark Church Logo
