“… a time of prayer for the church” Wed 12th February

Nigel writes:

Dear Friends

Clearly these are challenging times. At such points it can only be right to make a special effort to gather as a church family to pray. The detail of what follows springs from an initiative brought to me by Bob Dunnett.  Accordingly on behalf of myself, the whole Staff Team and the Churchwardens I am inviting as many as can to meet together in the church Sanctuary on the evening of Wednesday 12th February.

We will gather for an hour starting promptly at 8.00pm. Bob Dunnett will facilitate the gathering. After maybe a song or two Bob may read some scriptures and commend a few broad thoughts to help focus us for prayer. Thereafter the gathering will be “non-vocal” – the intention being we are together as a body before the Lord under the general banner “Be still and know that I am God”. This meeting will not encourage open prophetic contributions. As it concludes about 9.00pm there will be the opportunity for any who wish to stay on a bit longer in a similar pattern of stillness.

If it is deemed helpful consideration will be given to holding another such gathering later in the month.

I am very conscious this invitation will cut across other important personal as much as church family activities so I am appreciative for any and all efforts that you make to support this meeting.

I wonder if this is one of those times, for all who feel able, to fast in advance of this payer gathering?
