Prayer for Church Members (24th October 2013)

If you would like your prayer request to be included in this list please email Fran or phone The Church Office on 0121 427 4601

Gwen Gregory
Pray for Gwen in hospital with a broken wrist and femur following a fall.

Victoria Parsonson (St John’s Living Stone)
Please pray for the country of Madagascar at this time as it is the first stage of their presidential election on 25th October. Since a violent coup in 2009, Madagascar has had no internationally recognised president and has been somewhat chaotic. Long-promised democratic elections have been postponed over and over again, until they finally look like they’re definitely going to go ahead next week to short-list candidates for the final run-off. Tensions are already running high, and even in my rural town we already have a curfew in place and gendarmes patrolling. Please pray that things would proceed peacefully with no violence or loss of life, that the elections would be fair, and that overall the right candidates are shortlisted and the right candidate is chosen who can lead Madagascar forward.

Sheila Brown
Pray for Sheila who has broken her wrist. Pray that it will heal correctly and well and that it won’t need re-setting.

Enid Jordan
Pray for Enid as following the success of her first cataract operation she is due to have her other eye operated on 26th October.

Lilian MacKenzie
Give thanks for a good recovery so far following Lilian’s gall bladder operation. Pray for continued health and for a full recovery.

Barbara Hawkins
Please pray for Barbara who is staying for a few weeks at The Kenrick Centre following a brief spell in hospital.

Margaret Wozencroft
Please pray for Margaret as she awaits surgery for cancer.

Paul Battarbee
Gives thanks for a successful hip replacement operation. Paul would value ongoing prayer for continuing progress with increased strength and mobility.

Pete Burborough (family friend of Bob Billingham’s son Giles)
Pray for Pete who is undergoing chemotherapy for liver and kidney cancer.

Peter Jennings
Pray for Stella, Sarah, Joseph and all other family and friends of Peter Jennings who died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday 10th September.

Roger Jones
Pray for the family and friends of Roger Jones who passed away on Saturday 7th September.

John Hughes
Pray for John following a hip replacement operation at the beginning of September.

Rosemary Kennedy
Rosemary gives thanks for a successful hip operation and for a good recovery so far. Pray for a full recovery and good mobility.

Penny Marcès (Mission Partner in Lima, Peru)
Penny gives thanks for the disappearance of the Vertigo. However, tests are still being done to explain other health issues and she would value prayer for a diagnosis. (update via Margaret Smith)

Bridget Hathaway
Bridget is waiting for open heart surgery on two heart valve since an allergic reaction to the anaesthetic when the operation could not proceed. Please pray for wisdom for the anaesthetist as he decides what anaesthetic can be used after finding that she is allergic to 4 types of muscle relaxants. Bridget also asks for prayer for continued patience.

Further details from Ann Hopkins 429 8793. (Bridget worshipped at St John’s in 1980s and moved to St Germains with the group from St John’s.)

Lorna Uden
Pray for Lorna as she awaits further investigation of a lung problem (as yet undiagnosed).

Janet Fox
Janet’s father, Denni, is still very poorly. Pray for Janet and the wider family as they care for him at home.

Marjorie Featherstone
Pray for Marjorie during a course of chemotherapy. Pray particularly for energy and lack of infection.

Charles Nixon
