KCO tiled photosLed by Gerard Le Feuvre, King’s Chamber Orchestra are a professional chamber orchestra who tour extensively.

This year the Kings Chamber Orchestra’s Winter Tour is more far-reaching than ever, with concerts from Swanage to Nottingham, Jersey to Birkenhead, and with 12 regional venues in total. The orchestra gave a hugely successful sell-out performance of a new programme entitled “Night at the Movies” in the St Paul’s Jubilee Festival in Jersey in 2012 and this year King’s Chamber Orchestra have decided to bring that programme on tour.

The programme features a half-hour silent comedy from 1916 by Charlie Chaplin, with live music from an original 1920s film score library owned by the orchestra. During the first half of the concert the orchestra brings more contemporary film themes with a quiz and much fun and pathos. Gerard Le Feuvre brings to all the orchestra’s programmes a unique lightness and depth in his presentations and the orchestra has developed a tremendous following wherever they have established regular concerts. Most of King’s Chamber Orchestra’s concerts in 2012 were sold out, so please get tickets early!

8pm Evening Concert, Friday 22nd November 2013 at St John’s Church – “A Night at the Movies” – featuring music from the movies and a short Charlie Chaplin silent movie with live accompaniment by the King’s Chamber Orchestra. “This outstanding professional orchestra gives the most original and exciting children`s concerts I have ever heard. Relaxed and informal, its imaginative programming is brilliantly presented – the “DIY” conducting was a real hit with my two children and they loved the way the musicians walked through the audience too. Way better than anything I have seen in Central London – a treat for the adults too!” Helen Mansfield, Producer, BBC TV Classical Music
