Prime Time 2013 – the best yet?

Catriona Foster writes:
Prime Time 2013 050“This was our 6th year of running Prime Time – a “Holiday at Home” for Over 70’s, and it felt like the best yet. Around 40 guests attended for 3 days of fun, friendship & food. Despite the comfy chairs, it was hardly relaxing with a strong choice of top quality sessions each morning and afternoon. Guests could choose various talks such as the history of Selly Oak Hospital, or take part in gentle exercise or a Giant Scrabble game. They took part in discussions and Prime Time 2013 046enjoyed various musical sessions and some Indian worship dance. Some spent time on the computers or watched Dad’s Army! Some attended a “Colour Me Beautiful” session and others watched hand spinning and learnt about natural dyes as well as seeing beautiful hand-made garments. Throughout the week Fred’s games had a Royal theme – grouse shooting, pin the tail on the corgi and a game of croquet with a difference – the ball was to be aimed between various Royal couples then finally to be hit against the Royal baby! The Royal theme was further developed on the final day with a surprise Street Party at lunch time followed by a short service of Thanksgiving with hymns such as “Crown Him with Many Crowns” and “The King of Love”. Even Her Majesty showed up (see photo) and helped with the presentation of prizes at the end.

“Guests and helpers alike had a brilliant time and we cant wait ‘til next year!”
