Just One Hour

I want to highlight something new – what I am calling J1H. This stands for Just 1 Hour – provoked by something Jesus said to his disciples as he sought their support whilst he laboured in prayer –

“Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?”  from Matthew 26:40-41

I know many people in the church family are faithful pray-ers; and much prayer is made by people meeting in small groups as well as in pairs or triplets at their own convenience.

One of the most treasured documents is the weekly Prayer Sheet and the regular prayer bulletins in support of our Living Stones mission partners is another key resource used by many. A big thank-you for all your praying and personal commitment in this way.

Nevertheless, I have been feeling for some while the need to refresh and take a new look at how we try to pray together as a church family – the question has been how and when; at the same time being conscious of the scourge of busy-ness afflicting our 21st century culture.

Just One Hour starts on Tuesday 17th Sept from 8pm to 9pm at Church.  Future dates: Tuesdays 15th October; 19th November; 17th December.
