Thanksgiving Service for Christine Potter

After a long illness Christine Potter died peacefully on Thursday 15 August at Edgbaston Beaumont Nursing Home surrounded by close friends.Christine Potter with pink hat

A Thanksgiving Service for Christine’s life will take place on Friday 20 September at 12 noon at St John’s, and will be followed by a private cremation. You are warmly welcome to the service and refreshments afterwards in the church hall.

You will not be surprised to hear that Christine had already made arrangements for how this day should go. She asked that forgoing tradition we are invited to dress in colourful fashion. She requested no flowers but if you would like to make a donation in her memory then the following are her chosen charities:

Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice (with a request it be applied for their ‘hospice at home’ work)
Macmillan Cancer Fund
Southgate Family Church
St John’s Church, Harborne.

    Christine was a fantastic lady very easy to get on with very encouraging great in prayerand will be missed by me and Lesley. We know she has gone to a better place. We have been at St Johns nearly 5 years and have met some wonderful people and christine was 1 of them.

    It was always a pleasure meeting Christine & enjoying so many happy times on the Waterways with her, so sad to hear of her passing but at peace now. Sorry we can’t make it today but we will be thinking of Christine & her family & friends during the Service today.
