Buildings Survey – ‘Have your say’

St John's ChurchOver the last month some of you have joined together to pray about the building of St John’s Church.  Is the building still fit for purpose?  Is now the right time to begin moving forward?  These were just some of the questions we were asking the Lord as well as listening to Him.

As part of the process of determining the way forward we NEED to hear from you!  In the ‘Weekly Roundup’ during July there will be a link to a very simple survey which can be completed online (hard copies will be available from the office).  Please would you take time to pray and complete this over the next month.

If you have any questions or would like further information then please contact Steve Foster either by email or telephone the church office on 0121 427 4601

As little or nothing has been released on what ideas are in question regarding the buildings, it makes it very difficult to make an informed reply.

The PCC, standing committee, and buildings group discuss this question at some length. There were basically two different types of approach. One was to ask the question as we have done, are we happy with the church building as it is at the minute, is there any general enthusiasm for a building project, as yet to be defined? Such a question invites a comment such as you have made, but there seemed little point in producing a building plan if most people are happy and content with the buildings as they stand. The alternative was for a small group of people to develop a plan, or specific building project but we felt that this would invite criticism for a lack of input or involvement from the congregation.
We opted therefore for the former approach just to’ test the water’ at this stage.
I think the questions are short, straight forward and will be informative.
