Running Club

Early morning Saturday running club

Graham Champken invites you to run on a Saturday morning:

“A few of us go for an early Saturday morning social run most Saturdays throughout the year. We start at 7 30am and run for 50 minutes to an hour normally covering 5 – 7 miles.

“We began this routine as part of training for last year’s Birmingham half marathon and have kept it going. If anyone, (plus friends), would like to join us we meet at the Knightlow Road shops in Harborne and typically head off up the Harborne Walkway and onto various canals depending on the weather.

“The pace of those running varies from 8min 30sec to 9min 30sec per mile so is not too onerous. The timing is early as most of us have children that need ferrying around on Saturday mornings and it’s the only time we can reasonably make on a regular basis. Our routes also can normally be adapted if people want to shorten the run for any reason.

“Next run is this Saturday………….”

If you feel inspired (or know of anyone who might appreciate some company when trying to get or stay fit), and would like to go running with them, please contact Graham or leave a comment in the box below and he will get back to you, so that they can look out for you.

    Hey Graham,
    Have you come across GoodGym?

Might be fun to try and combine the running club with a bit of PAC work or visiting an older person some time.
