Spread the Good News of Good Friday, to the people of Harborne

Come and join in with our outreach into Harborne on Good Friday.

Prayer Walking
Starting at 9am from St John’s Car Park walk around nearby roads in a group. At various points the group stops to sing a worship song, read from the Bible; pray for Harborne; make a declaration of God’s goodness. This year the Prayer Walk is led by Mike Rivett.

Download a copy of the route here.

Last year the group numbered around 50 people, but more than this would be much better to make a real statement of our faith to passers by and those who live in the roads.
The Prayer Walk ends in the High Street to join in the Service of Witness at 10.30am

There is also a similar walk starting at 9.30am from St Faith and St Laurence Church in Balden Road for those who live near there.

Service of Witness
Outside the Post Office on Harborne High Street at 10.30am.
This service has been a tradition of the Churches Together in Harborne for over 30 years but is organised by St John’s as the High Street is in our Parish. All ministers and leaders of the other churches are invited to take part; and members of all congregations encouraged to attend to make a united witness to the events of Good Friday at the first Easter.

Jon Tattersall is giving the talk this year and our worship band, led by Marcus will be leading the singing both during and before the service.

Please make every effort to come along and witness to our Christian faith, and the good news of Jesus salvation for us all when he died on the Cross on Good Friday.

Last year about 400 people gathered outside the Post Office many of whom were non-church goers and passers-by. There are always opportunities to speak to people who come along and join in, or who stop for a few minutes to see what is going on.

After the Service of Witness coffee, tea and Hot Cross Buns will be served at Harborne Baptist Church on Harborne Park Road. All are welcome to go along.

Pat Brydon is happy to hear from any who are willing to distribute flyers before the service and Service Sheets at the start and during the service.  Contact The Church Office or leave a comment in the box below and Pat will get in touch.

A route would be helpful so that people can join in at different points. I have always joined at the Circle as it is near where i live
