Volunteer Training in the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults

Monday 18th February in the Upper Room.
7.15pm (coffee) for a 7.30pm start, aim to finish for 9pm.

This meeting is for anyone in the church who has a volunteering role with Vulnerable Adults.

Catriona Foster writes: “Our Older People Volunteers’ Meeting this term will take the form of training in the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults.  This will be led by Sue Clegg in her role as Parish Safeguarding of Children Coordinator  (PSCC).  Some of you attended her training last term in connection with the Safeguarding of Children, and I know you will agree with me that it was superbly led by Sue.  In fact someone said to me today that (despite the topic), it was a great evening!

“This is a really important meeting and I hope you will all be able to attend.  It is important for all who are involved in volunteering with the older peoples’ ministry, including those who help with transport and in the kitchen.

“The meeting will not take the form of our usual Volunteers’ Meetings.  There will be no other business, and other groups of volunteers such as the Debt strand and the Prayer team will be invited to join us.  We will not have another Volunteers’ Meeting until next term.

“If you already attended Sue’s training last term, it would still be good for you to come to this session because it will be specifically related to work with Adults rather than children.  Many thanks for all you do.”

Please can you let Catriona Foster or Sue Clegg know whether or not you are able to attend this training.
