New venue for Pathfinders and Ignite on Sundays

Letter from Tim Meathrel to all parents re Pathfinders and Ignite groups.
This will be available as a hard copy for all parents of Pathfinders and Ignite groups on Sunday 20th January.

“I am writing to inform you of a change of venue for our Pathfinder and Ignite groups on Sunday mornings. Over the last two years the number of children and young people attending our groups has been steadily growing. This is exciting but creates some challenges concerning the space available for different groups to meet in our building.

“A year ago we introduced a different group for years 5 and 6, Ignite, and rearranged the ages in our other groups which enabled us to use all of the available space in the church for groups. However, this change has been so successful that our groups have continued to grow!

“As a church leadership we have considered a number of different solutions to this problem and have reached the conclusion that it would be best for us to hire some extra space as a short-term solution whilst we consider the bigger question of what we do with our current facilities.

“As a result, on 24th February, following February half-term, Ignite and Pathfinders will no longer meet in St Johns. Instead both groups will meet in ‘The Studio’ which is a self-contained unit within Harborne Primary School on Station Road with access through the gate on Wentworth Road. Our intention is to introduce this new pattern for a trial period lasting until Easter and then assess whether it has been successful.

“Our plan is to keep our pattern of worship the same with all children, young people and adults gathering together at 9.15am to worship and pray together before going to their separate activities. At this point Ignite and Pathfinders would meet in the foyer at the main entrance to walk together to the Studio. They would then have their normal group time before returning to St Johns for 10.45am where they will come and find you during coffee time. Please note that should you arrive late or need to leave early then these changes mean that it will be your responsibility to drop off or pick up your child directly from the Studio.

Please do contact myself or Jon Tattersall should you have any questions or concerns about these changes.”
