Harborne Connect

Update on fourth and last evening of visiting on 10th December from Tim Meathrel:

“We had a really good final evening visiting session for Harborne Connect with lots of doors opening and lots of good conversations happening. In particular there were more requests for Alpha invitations and Christmas service invites mixed in with more ‘God incidences’. Thank you to everyone for your prayers so far but please do continue to pray for the team as they follow up these opportunities.”

Update on third evening of visiting on 3rd December from Tim Meathrel:

“We’ve now had three Harborne Connect sessions visiting homes in our parish. Whilst the reception that we’ve received has been variable we are encouraged by the really good and positive conversations that the team have had with some. In particular a number have requested information about our Alpha Course starting in January.

“Please do pray for the final session this Monday night and for the daytime visiting team that will be visiting over the next few weeks. Do pray that doors will be opened to us and that we have opportunities to bless those in our community with the love and presence of God.”

Update on second evening of visiting on 26th November from John Cheatle:

“Monday evening was wet, cold and in many cases disappointing.  BUT one couple, new to Harborne, invited us in.  Upon hearing about Alpha they were both positively enthusiastic and keen to evaluate the claims of the Christian faith.  Tim will be calling on them to consolidate their interest.”

Tim Meathrel gave us the following update on the first evening of parish visiting on 19th November:

“We had a great first evening.  Lots of people received prayers of blessing on their doorsteps. Good opportunities for conversations came when people were invited in and there were a number of amazing God-ordained encounters.”

More about ‘Harborne Connect’

Tim gives us the details about our new evangelistic initiative at St John’s.

“Recently we launched a major new evangelistic initiative aiming to visit everyone who lives in our parish over the next 2 or 3 years. I would love to ask for your prayers for Harborne Connect over the coming weeks as the team prepare to step out in faith and go out visiting people on Mondays 19th and 26th November and 3rd and 10th December.

“Please could you set aside some time on those visiting days to pray for us especially if you are available to pray between 7.00pm and 9.30pm when we will be visiting.”

Tim added: “It’s also not too late to be involved in the visiting team (daytime or evening) and prayer teams. Please contact Tim or John Cheatle for more information about this exciting new venture.”

Thanks for this new way of doing things – just to let you know that the password worked perfectly.
Will a similar page be set up for the weekly prayer requests in due course?

Great news! Really encouraging! Could we possibly have a list of team members so that we can be supporting specific individuals when they go out on Mondays and maybe contact them at other times eg after services.
