Summer Camp Youth Work

Sally (Licensed Lay Minister Exeter Diocese) writes :

We run Tavy Family Camp, Friday 16 August – Friday 23 August, as an outreach project under the auspices of Brentor PCC. We started camp 14 years ago and now use the Urban Saints Site, nr Dartmouth. We are usually about 100 on site and we encourage families to absorb a Christian way of life during the week by offering 2 evening services, and in the daytime a kid’s club for 1 hour in the morning with a Christian theme and then our youth workers usually join the families on the beach (if the weather is good) between 12 noon and 4pm. From 5pm until bedtime, the youth workers we have previously hosted then arranged activities for the younger and older youth. In the past we used to run a youth club so we were fortunate to be able to include our youth workers, but they have now moved on to other careers. We are seeking a male and female Christian youth worker over the age of 21 years. We are offering travel costs and a small remuneration. All meals included. Accommodation is in tents and these can be provided for the youth workers.

All children are accompanied by at least 1 adult carer and we have been able to offer 2 families in need a chance of a holiday these past 2 years. We would love to talk with anyone who is interested in helping us. Email is better and actually I am going to suggest my church email address as we are away form home for a few days, next week.
