PRAYER IS REQUESTED FOR

People in our fellowship who are ill but not mentioned by name in the list below.

The Christmas Tour
Please pray for the Christmas Tour this week. On Thursday and Friday over 300 school children will come to St John’s to find out the true meaning of Christmas, as well as the many families coming to experience the first Christmas on Saturday 1st December. Pray for those who come, that they would want to find out more, and for the team of actors that they would maintain their strength, stamina and health throughout.

Andrea Harden and Family
Andrea Harden’s brother in law Jonathan passed away suddenly last week. Please pray for her sister Jo and their two children Lewis (16) and Evie (14) dealing with grief, and the legal process. Please also pray for wisdom for family and friends as they give support.

Birmingham University Christian Union
Please pray for their annual Carol Service on Thursday 6 December, for all the organisation, logistics, for the team, the main speaker and the many students that have been invited by their friends!

Enid Jordan
Enid thanks everyone for their prayers and cards etc.  Please pray for her on-going recovery and that she will re-gain strength following surgery.

Brian Thomas
Please pray for Brian and Karen Thomas this week. Brian had a heart attack but didn’t realise it! He has had a stent fitted and is doing really well. He is so thankful for your prayers.

Simon Martin
Brian and Christine write: “Simon’s support situation remains static as he continues to await CQC’s decision regarding registering the flat he hopes to move into that is linked with his current Care Home. Thank you however for praying. Simon’s mental health is improving bit by bit and this will give him a better foundation to manage the change when it does happen. Please continue to pray for God’s best outcome for him.”

Thelma Stock
Thelma gives thanks for answered prayer.  Her sister is now in a Nursing Home.  Please pray that she will begin to settle happily there.

Christine (daughter of Rosemary Kennedy)
Thank you for praying for Rosemary’s daughter Christine. Rosemary writes: “We have a positive answer to prayer for my eldest daughter Christine in Australia.  Her health condition is back to near normal and she is managing financially. Very many thanks for praying.”

Family of Professor Philip McNair
Professor Philip McNair, former church warden, small group leader died recently aged 96.

June McCausland
Pray for June McCausland who has been seriously ill. Give thanks for some improvement in her situation and pray for more recovery and strength for her as she remains in hospital.

Elizabeth Richards
Elizabeth is in the QE, but a planned operation was not able to go ahead because of other health concerns. Please pray for effective treatment and care, and for renewed health and strength.

Mac Rowse
Mac writes: “My bladder tumour was resected successfully, and I am almost fully recovered so we thank you for your prayers and God for his provision. Unfortunately, the tumour is aggressive. The curative way to deal with this situation is to remove the bladder entirely which is big surgery. Ann and I would value prayers for protection from complications and as has been prophesied that “all will be well”. The surgery is planned for 30th November.”

Andrea Mason
Andrea writes: “My knee continues to bend and I am planning to return back to work on 12th of November. I am now able to drive and ride a stationary bike. This is a true miracle! I would like to thank people for their prayers, and would ask for specific prayer for a smooth phased return back to work.”

Paul Beard
Paul is pleased to say that he has been given a clean bill of health. He writes: “I am now driving and will be picking up my life at St John’s even starting on Thursday. I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, phone calls, visits that have made the last six weeks bearable. I can’t say everything is perfect because I must improve my fitness, but I am on the way and the last thank you must be to GOD who has made it all possible.”

Sam Parker
Sam’s enjoying his new job but has had some FND symptoms recur recently. However, he’s coping well and has lots of support from his colleagues and his GP.

Mark (friend of Brennan Horne)
Brennan writes: “Mark has had a kidney removed due to cancer. The other kidney is not working, so he is on dialysis. He has cancer in his lungs and no medication can be given to slow that down due to his strength of health at the moment. His world has been turned upside down in a matter of months. He is a single guy. Please pray for him and all his family.”

Michael Waters
Following Hip revision surgery in September, Michael has now been discharged from hospital but is still taking antibiotics to ensure that the infection has been defeated and is still under the supervision of his consultant. Please pray for his body to continue to fight any remnants of the infection and for the satisfactory recovery from the second operation on his hip.

Lesley Osborn
Lesley remains in the QE (the 5th admission in 3 months). Pray for her recovery and that she will be able to regain strength while continuing with renal dialysis.

Simon Martin
Brian and Christine ask for further prayer for Simon and his situation.
Simon’s Care Home Solicitor delivered submissions to CQC to urge them to reconsider their decision to refuse to register the purpose-built flat for Simon’s rehabilitation placement. Please pray for a speedy outcome for Simon for whatever is best so that he can be supported to progress.

Elizabeth Brown (mother of Helen Van Vliet)
Helen writes: “Thank you for continuing to pray for my Mum who is much, much better, and still improving. Please continue to pray in the last little bit of her recovery – its been a long process, but she’s nearly there!”

Lorna Uden
Please continue to pray for Lorna who is still suffering from very painful blocked tear ducts. Please pray for complete healing and that she will be given the necessary treatment soon.

Sarah Ball
Sarah writes “I am thankful that I have been able to do more recently. Would you please continue to pray for increasing energy and a full recovery!”

Beryl Beavis
Beryl writes: ‘Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for complete healing of the nerves and muscles.’

Leah Sharibu
Please continue to pray for Leah Sharibu – a 16-year-old Christian girl who was kidnapped by Boko Haram and has not yet been freed because she is a Christian who has refused to deny her faith.

The Moore Family
Please continue to pray for the Moore family and especially Sarah.
