Prayer For Church Members (26th July)

PRAYER IS REQUESTED FOR

People in our fellowship who are ill but not mentioned by name in the list below.

Prime Time (14 – 16 Aug)

Pray for our 60 guests, many of whom are not from the church:

  • That Prime Time will be a very special three days and that as well as enjoying the company and the activities, our guests will have a real sense of God’s presence and love.
  • For safety in getting to and from Prime Time and in moving about the building and that the guests will be in good health throughout the time.

Pray for the practicalities of organising this event:

  • For visiting speakers, that they will turn up on time and be able to present their sessions well
  • For the logistics of planning transport, programme, helpers, etc

Pray for the Volunteer Team:

  • For a united, happy team and for wisdom and sensitivity in serving our guests
  • For health and strength
  • For safety, especially in the kitchen and moving furniture etc

Desmond Cole
Please pray for Desmond Cole who has been having treatment for prostate and bowel cancer since being diagnosed in 2015. He writes: ”Please pray the signs and tests will continue to be positive and show recovery, and that the treatments I had had been effective.”

Elizabeth Brown (mother of Helen Van Vliet)
Helen writes: “Thank you for continuing to pray for my Mum who is much, much better, and still improving. Please continue to pray in the last little bit of her recovery – its been a long process, but she’s nearly there!”

Debby Bridge
Please pray for Debby this week following the death of her mother. Debby writes: ‘My mum died peacefully on Saturday after a long battle with Dementia. Please pray for all the family as arrangements and practicalities are sorted out.’

Andrea Mason
Please continue in prayer for Andrea Mason. She writes: “The knee manipulation went well on Saturday (30th June) and I have now restarted intensive physiotherapy again. Prayer request would be that the knee continues to bend and straighten to a level that enables me to return to work and a normal level of activity. I would like to thank people for their continued prayers and support.”

Sam Parker
Sam’s internship has now finished and he’s looking for work. Please pray that he finds the job that the Lord has for him and that he copes with the emotional and physical ‘stuff’ of being unemployed.

Anna Hilton and Ellen Brunet
We had an amazing experience on elective at Kiwoko hospital in Uganda (7th May – 26th June); thank you so much to all who prayed for us whilst we were there. Please thank God for His faithfulness in keeping us safe and for all that he has taught us. Please pray for Kiwoko Hospital as it continues to reach out to people in need in rural Uganda.

Lorna Uden
Please continue to pray for Lorna who is still suffering from very painful blocked tear ducts. Please pray for complete healing and that she will be given the necessary treatment soon.

Elizabeth Richards
Please continue to pray for Elizabeth for restoration of vision following a recent stroke.

Ross & Liz Bryson
Thank you for praying for Ross and Liz while they travelled. They have arrived home safely after a wonderful time away.

Sarah Ball
Sarah writes “I am thankful that I have been able to do more recently. Would you please continue to pray for increasing energy and a full recovery!”

Jean Evans (friend of Rosemary Kennedy)
Rosemary writes: “My keen Christian friend Jean Evans in Cardiff is having difficulty with the effects of Chemotherapy. She can’t go home and has to be looked after. Fortunately she has support. Please pray that some progress can be made in her treatment.”

Beryl Beavis
Beryl writes: ‘Thank you for your prayers. The pain is almost gone. Please continue to pray for complete healing of the nerves and muscles.’

Paul Beard
Paul is recovering well from his recent back operation.  He is looking now towards a date for a replacement hip – please pray that this will happen soon, and that it will be effective in bringing relief from pain.

Ruth Iliya Kwache 
Please pray for Ruth as she is not feeling well.

Leah Sharibu
Please continue to pray for Leah Sharibu – a 16-year-old Christian girl who was kidnapped by Boko Haram and has not yet been freed because she is a Christian and has refused to deny her faith.

Christiane Neumann
Christiane would value prayer for recovery of energy and increased mobility, and that she might have no recurrence or spread of the cancer.  She is very thankful for all the prayer support.

The Moore Family
Please continue to pray for the Moore family and especially Sarah.

Lesley Osborn
Lesley Osborn is on renal dialysis. Lesley sends her thanks for your prayers which are much appreciated.

Asher Sinclair (2 years)
Pray for Asher, his parents David and Helen, his sister Erin, and his grandparents Will and Jo Drever. Asher has been at Great Ormond Street Hospital, is now home, but continues to need treatment.

PLEASE ALSO PRAY FOR

Older members of our congregation especially for people with dementia and those who care for them.

Pray for the Older Members of our community.

Pray for Catriona and her team as they run monthly services at The Kenrick Centre. Pray also for all the residents attending these events.

Carers in our church family who are looking after those who are ill or in need of on-going care.

Housebound members of our fellowship, and those in nursing homes.

Those who can no longer attend church for a variety of reasons.

PCC members as they serve the church in 2018-2019.

St John’s Buildings Project Steering Group as they meet fortnightly to discuss, plan and pray about our future building project.

Ben Baker, who was ordained as Deacon in Oxford on Sat 30 June. He will be moving to St Mary’s, Headington for his Curacy.

Sean Clancey, who was ordained as Deacon in Birmingham on Sun 24 June. He will be moving to St Chad’s, Rubery for his Curacy.

Fiona Gregson and Nathan Burden as they begin their work for St Johns.

And Mark Roper as he continues training for ordained ministry.
