Associate Vicar Interim Cover

Introducing Fiona & Nathan…

We are thrilled to be able to confirm two part-time temporary appointments, approved by the Bishop and funded from our central contributions, to help cover the period until Jon Tattersall joins us next year. Both come from within our church family at St John’s.

The Revd Dr Fiona Gregson started in post on Sunday 24 June as Associate Priest and will be majoring on Sunday services and pastoral care, including working with small groups and our Toddler ministry. Fiona is married to Matthew and they have a daughter.

Fiona writes: “I am excited to be serving the church in a new way after nearly 30 years connected to the St John’s church family – as a church member, associate Living Stone and ordinand before working as a curate and vicar elsewhere.  I am passionate about seeing people come to faith, grow in faith, and make a difference in their communities and places of work.  I am looking forward to seeing what God will do in and through us over the next year.  I enjoy knitting, sewing, cooking, swimming and mountain walking.”

Nathan Burden will start in September as Lay Parish Associate and will be majoring on Mission and Outreach, including working with Alpha and Debt advice. Nathan is married to Jenny and they have two sons and a daughter.

Nathan writes: “Jen and I have been part of this church for over 15 years now and I am really looking forward to serving the church in new ways in the months ahead. Many of you will recognise me from playing the trombone and trumpet in worship, as well as being involved in Living Stones short term missions and youth work. I love good coffee, playing chess and watching movies. Currently I am kept busy being a full time dad to our three children.”
