‘…they gave to anyone who had need’

St John’s set up a fund many years ago for the care of those in our fellowship who through personal circumstances find that they are in need.

The verses that govern our appeal are  Acts 2 :42 – 47

The fellowship of the believers
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Giving through the Mutual Care Fund is anonymous. If you would like your gift to be directed to a particular need or individual then you can ask for this to be done on your behalf anonymously. If you do not know specific needs then the pastoral team directs the giving of the fund.

When specific needs arise we are encouraged to give into the Mutual Care Fund. Christmas is a special time of need for some and an occasion when gifts are often made to individuals. Please consider donating into the fund now in order to arrange this in time for Christmas.

You can make an anonymous payment online through Paypal by click button below

Alternatively envelopes marked Mutual Care Fund* can be put in the collection, or if preferred dropped into the Church Office. Cheques should be made out to the ‘Mutual Care Fund’.

The Mutual Care Fund is administered by Rev Antony Spencer, David Dixie and Fiona Collins.

*The Mutual Care Fund is not a registered Charity so your gift will not be eligible for Gift Aid.
