Week of 24:7 Prayer 13th-20th January 2017

On earth as in heaven

‘Your Kingdom come… on Earth as in Heaven’

You are invited
Come, join in with an exciting week of prayer, here at St John’s, as we consider the following:

• What do you think of when you pray for God’s Kingdom to come?
• Do you think of a person, or a place? A Church or a part of the world?
• An aspect of culture or an attitude of the heart?
• What might God say to you as you seek Him and listen?
• What might he say to us as Church?

Watch this video to find out how to get involved…

Encounter and Intercession
The Upper Room will be a creative space, set apart as a place to meet with God. To be still and listen. To intercede and cry out for the needs of others. There will be silence, reading, worship, listening to music, drawing, writing, or simply praying together…plus endless other ways to pray.

As with our previous 24hr Prayer times, the room will be set up with stations to help you.
We will follow the traditional ACTS journey of prayer:

And each day will have a specific focus:
Sat 14th Jan HEALING
Wed 18th UNITY
Thurs 19th WORLD

How can you get involved?

Commit to praying for 1 hour
We are ambitious to fill all 168 hours with continuous prayer in the Upper Room. (Yes, that includes through the night!)
Please consider whether you, or your small group would be able to cover at least one hour.
Click HERE to sign up online.
We are particularly keen to have two people in church during the night, from 11pm – 5am every night. Could you commit to covering 3 or 6 hours with someone else?

Call in and spend as little or as long as you want in prayer
Feel free to come and go. If the room is busy and full when you arrive and you were looking for a quiet place, then the Prayer Room on the ground floor will be available as an alternative place to pray. And if you are unable to commit to a specific time, you are very welcome to just drop in, for as short or as long as you like. Just turn up.

Join us for Together Times:
Fri 13th 7-8pm
Mon 16th 7-8pm
Tues 17th 7-8pm
Wed 18th 7-9pm for a slightly longer Sanctuary meeting (in the Sanctuary)
Thurs 19th 7-8pm
Fri 20th 6-7pm

In addition to these times there will also be a special hour for families with young children on Sat 14th 3-4pm in the main hall.

Don’t miss out
Previous prayer events at St John’s have been such an encouragement to those who have attended.
As we pray, we find ourselves re-centred in who God is and who we are.
We allow Him time to speak to us. To reveal what is on His heart and what is on ours.
At this most pivotal time in the life of St John’s it is of paramount importance that we humble ourselves and seek God afresh. For nothing of lasting value ever happens without prayer.
What might God say to us? What might He say to you?
