Helping the worried & fearful in our community…

Our Debt Advice team at The Crossway are looking for new volunteers

Volunteering for this team can make a significant difference (with a relatively small time commitment) to the lives of people who are struggling to manage their debts and who are constantly under pressure from creditors. In some instances people will not answer the phone or open post because they are too worried – imagine having that fear and the associated implications it brings on a daily basis.

These are just a sample of the testimonial comments we have received.

“Thanks for everything I cannot put into words how much I appreciate what you have done.”

“This is also the time to thank you for taking care of me and helping me to life again. October 2013 my world fell apart, I lost trust and was lost in the darkness. Your prayers, kindness and guidance gave me hope.”

“Thanks for all your help with my problems and your support and the great job you all do helping so many people. Thank you all.”

“I walk past in the daytime and I just give thanks for you guys ,I feel like I can breathe again, I feel like this knot has just opened.”

The Debt Advice time are currently unable to meet demand for their service. If you are able to make a regular commitment – ideally weekly or fortnightly and feel that this is an area in which you could serve please speak to or email Dave Robertson

The following video produce by Community Money Advice shows the background behind the ethos of our Debt Advice.  St John’s is a member of CMA, who provide training and support to our team.
