Hi all,

A big thank you for all you already do to support Karis Neighbour Scheme. We wanted to let you know about a few more ways you could help out this month.

First, if you’re a fan of barn dances or ceilidhs it’d be great if you could join us at St John’s & St Peter’s Church, Darnley Road, B16 8TF, on Saturday 29th October from 6pm for our annual ceilidh. Tickets are £10 (£5 concessions) and there will be food provided by The Real Junk Food Project at the start of the evening. It is always a lot of fun and its really easy to get involved if you’ve never been to a barn dance before! Contact us for tickets.

Second, if you shop at Waitrose in Harborne then keep an eye out for us in their Community Matters scheme this month, the more tokens we receive the bigger share of the fund we receive towards supporting our Christmas party for many of the older people we support.

Third, keep an eye out for details of the Aviva Community Fund, opening on 21st October, where you can help us by voting for our Children & Families work to be one of the projects to receive a grant of several thousand pounds.

Also, for the practical minded amongst you, we’re planning to give our office a new coat of paint over half term week (24th-28th October), if you’re a dab hand with a roller and can spare a morning or afternoon to help please do let me know.

Similarly, if you’d be willing to help with practical jobs in general please do let us know, there are a lot of people we know who need help with jobs like gardening and decorating at the moment and we could really do with some extra pairs of hands. If you, or anyone you know, might be able to help do put them in touch. We’re looking to organise some jobs for Saturday 22nd October, so in particular if you’re free that date that’d be great, but help at other times would also be appreciated.
