Church Warden, Debby Bridge gave the following announcement at each service on Palm Sunday, 20th March

“Following the successful interviews in February, we are very pleased to announce that the Reverend Leonard Browne has been appointed as our new Vicar here at St John’s.

“There is much to be settled yet, but Leonard is likely to be licensed in early September.

“Leonard and his wife Alison are moving from Cheltenham to join us. They have been part of the Trinity Church Cheltenham where Leonard has preached regularly.

“In his early career Leonard was a curate at Greyfriars, Reading, and subsequently was appointed Vicar of St Barnabas in Cambridge.

“In more recent years, he has been working at Dean Close School in Cheltenham in a variety of roles including Headmaster of the Prep School and latterly as Chaplain and RS teacher.

“Leonard comes with much experience and a strong sense of call to St John’s.

“Please do be praying for Leonard and Alison as they prepare to move in July and take up this appointment in September.”

A leaflet was given out after all services with some background and details about Leonard and his family.  You can download the information or pick up a leaflet up at church.
