‘A precious sense of the presence of God’ at the 24hr prayer time

he restores my soul image 2016

Marcus writes: “Ben and I were so encouraged by the way the Church got involved in the 24hr prayer time.

“Right from the start, as we worshipped together there was a precious sense of the presence of God with us, stirring us up to dig deep in praise and prayer.

“Two hours praying for the world just flew by on Friday nght, then we had people in the Upper Room praying right through the night on a rota – unprecedented!

“Prayer for those in need was at 9am Saturday morning and we prayed for mission at 2pm in the afternoon.

“Probably one of the most encouraging times was the Families Hour at 4pm when we had approximately 50 parents and children attend, engaging with prayer in creative and child-friendly ways.

“Over the 24 hours, there was space to just ‘be’ with God. And what a special sense of being with God there was.

“We used Psalm 23 as a framework and there were plenty of stations set out to aid encounter with the Lord.

“Our hope and prayer was that people would have a refreshing sense of the Lord’s restoring during these times, enabling us to pray with increasing boldness and live with heightened faith.”
