Prayer for Church Members (3rd March 2016)

PRAYER IS REQUESTED FOR

Bernie Barber (sister-in-law of Ginny Cornish)
Please pray for Bernie who is very poorly with late stage ovarian cancer.

The late Betty Edmonds
Please pray for the family and friends of Betty Edmonds who passed away two weeks ago. Betty was a long-standing member of St John’s who served for many years in various capacities including helping at a Talk Together creche.  Betty’s funeral is yet to be arranged.

Thelma Jones
Give thanks that Thelma has recovered from her second eye operation. Pray that this might result in some improvement in her sight. Pray for her as she celebrated her 92nd birthday on Friday 26th February.

Lesley Osborn
Lesley is home from hospital following recent valve replacement surgery. Pray for strength and good recovery following this surgery.

Des Cole
Des gives praise that having finished chemotherapy for bowel cancer in January he has been signed me off any more treatment. Also, that the job that he started in November has been going well. He is starting a course of radiotherapy for the prostate cancer on 3rd March, which will be every working day for seven and a half weeks. Please pray that he avoids the worst side effects and the treatment will be effective in removing the cancer cells.

Barbara Hawkins
Pray for Barbara as she celebrates her 92nd birthday on Thursday 3rd March.

Baby Asher
Please continue to pray for Baby Asher in cardiac ICU at Great Ormond Street following a life threatening virus that has had seriously affected his heart function. Pray for all the medical staff treating him and for all the procedures that he undergoes on an almost daily basis. Pray for his parents David and Helen, his sister Erin, and his grandparents Will and Jo Drever at this very difficult time.

Older Members of our Congregation
Pray for other older members of our congregation. Pray especially for people with dementia and those who care for them.

Barry Blakemore
Pray for Barry who is poorly at home. Please pray for Yvonne as she cares for him and for their children Simon, Faith and Miriam.

Sid and Margaret Ball (parents of Sarah Ball)
Please continue to pray for Sarah Ball’s mother and father. Margaret is currently settled in a nursing home but would appreciate continued prayer for her health. Sid has struggled to cope with the change and is now in hospital himself. Please pray for the whole family and for wisdom for those treating Sid.

Jeremy Sharpe
Pray for Jeremy undergoing renal investigations at QEHB.

Doris Macdonald
Please pray for Doris for continued good recovery at home following a major gall bladder operation.

Delphine Nurse
Please pray for Delphine as she continues to recover from radiotherapy treatment.

Richard Kent

Others in our fellowship who are ill but who are not mentioned in this list.

Parish Representatives -Pray for Geoff Heyes and Janet Ryland as they meet with the candidates and their spouses, working and praying with them to explore whether a move to St John’s is right for them and us.

New Appointment Group – Pray for the Church Wardens: Brennan Horne, Debby Bridge, and other members of the group: Jeremy Thompson, Lis Whybrow, in their supporting role.

The Bishop and the Patron, Church Society – pray for their important roles in appointing our new Vicar
