Together in Prayer

Jesus, friend of children –
You took them in your arms and blessed them;
You wouldn’t let your disciples send them away
You said ‘Let the children come to me;
Don’t stop them; they’re just right for the kingdom.’

Help me to be childlike for your kingdom’s sake;
Give me the trusting confidence that overthrows my doubt,
The ability to receive your unconditional love,
The honesty to speak out for justice when things are unfair.,
The openness to accept the stranger as family;

And may I not seek recognition, accolade or reward,
But give myself undividedly to your service,
Growing daily in my knowledge of your will and your Word,
Relying on your provision for all my needs.

Heavenly Father, I am your child.
Keep me childlike until your kingdom comes
Or you call me home to yourself.
