Antony writes about leadership matters

Antony Spencer
Firstly, following Ruth taking up her new post as Assistant Director of Mission at the Church of England Birmingham new arrangements are in place for supporting Home Groups and their leaders. Debby Bridge our churchwarden has agreed to take on the role of helping connect and place new people into existing groups.  Until recently Debby has been a long standing leader of a Home Group, and she has in mind to visit groups so that she can gain a better understanding of the needs and opportunities that exist.

Alongside this Antony will deal directly with any pastoral, training, leadership or organisational matters that may arise in Home Groups.

We encourage everyone at St John’s to be a member of a small group.  If you are looking to join a group then do please contact Debby.

The other things to mention is that Fiona Gregson who has been leading services here at St John’s has been appointed and licensed to Aston and Nechells parish to help cover maternity leave during their interregnum.  We congratulate Fiona on her appointment and are delighted that Fiona will continue to lead services at St John’s from time to time.  We very much appreciate Fiona’s ministry and are so grateful both for her willingness to serve and for her ministry among us.  We are grateful too to Matthew who makes Fiona’s up front ministry possible as he cares for their daughter Hannah.

Please hold Debby and Fiona in your prayers.
