‘Come and pray’ – St John’s Week of Prayer and the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Ecclesiastes 3: 1: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens

We all need prayer support on Life’s journey, our own journey or that of the church.

This is an invitation to YOU to be part of a week of prayer at St John’s from Saturday January 16th – Sunday January 24th, running alongside

Salt of the Earth ‘Salt of the Earth’ the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity from Monday 18th to Monday 25th January, organised by Harborne Churches Together.

Weekdays 18th-22nd

Do come along and join in with a group meeting at church from 2pm to 3pm
to pray specifically, though not necessarily exclusively as follows: – or send in your prayer requests

Monday 18th Life’s journey- Toddler Group and Talk Together Groups
Luke 18:15: People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them.

Tuesday 19th Life’s journey- Children’s work, Brownies and Rainbows
Mark 10:16: And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Wednesday 20th Life’s journey- Youth work, Guides and Rangers
2 Peter 3:18:  But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Thursday 21st Life’s journey -18+, Students, Synergy, Home Groups, Men’s and Women’s ministry
Hebrews 6:1:   Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity

Friday 22nd  Life’s journey –  18+++ Midway, ministry to Older People
Ephesians 4:12: ….so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

On Thursday 21st the Intercessory Group, will meet from 9.40am-10.25am, and will be praying for The Crossway, The Church Office and staff and volunteers who work both on and off the premises.

This will be followed at 10.30am by the monthly Midweek Holy Communion Service

Monday 18th – pray for the PCC meeting, in groups, wherever you are or individually

Tuesday 19th – Come along to ‘The Call’ from 7.30pm to 8.30pm at church and pray for the church: its worship, its teaching and for the appointment of our new Vicar.

Wednesday 20th – If you are in a Home Group meeting tonight please take this opportunity to pray for your ‘Living Stone’ or use the latest Living Stones News and Prayer Letter for December, available at church.  Not in a Home Group? – pray for Living Stones wheree individually.

Thursday 21st – If you haven’t managed anything else during this week of prayer for Christian Unity consider praying together with others at St Faith and St Laurence.7.30 pm

Friday 22nd –  St John’s is hosting Prayer for Christian Unity for Churches Together in Harborne at 7.30 pm.


Saturday 16th –  ‘The Trumpet is Sounding’ Day of Prayer at The World Prayer Centre at City Church 10.30am -3pm

Sunday 17th Church Services

Saturday 23rd– Sunday 24th  #Pray24Brum from 10am 23rd to 11.30am 24th at The Church in Carrs Lane – drop in when you can.

Sunday 24th Church Services and ‘Bring and Share Unity Lunch’ at  Harborne Baptist Church from 1pm
