Alison EareyAlison Earey is a Reader, who is licensed to lead services and preach at St John’s. Outside of church, she is a specialist dyslexia tutor and assessor; and offers spiritual direction. She attends Talk Together and Homegroup and is on the Welcome Team at 9.15am or 11am service.



Antony SpencerAntony Spencer (Chair PCC) is in his eighth year at St John’s and serves as Associate Vicar; chair of PCC; and leader of the Staff Team. His passion is for people to live in the freedom Jesus has won for them.



Ben CollinsBen Collins I attend the 9:15 service with my wife, Kate and son, Joel.  I have attended St Johns for 30 years. During the week I work in the city as an accountant. Recently I was appointed as the Chair of Living Stones.




Brennan HorneBrennan Horne (Church Warden) I am married to Jill. In my day job, I am an accountant, desperately trying not to be boring. At church, I help out with Alpha, the Freedom course and occasionally prayer ministry. We love to travel, so when not in Llandudno or Harborne, we may be in Saigon. I attend all three services, although not necessarily on the same day!


Carol DealeyCarol Dealey is a member of the St Boniface Food Bank team. She is a home group co-ordinator and member of the Prayer Ministry Team and Healing Prayer at the Crossway.  Carol attends 11am and 6.30pm services.  Member of Deanery and Diocesan Synods.



Dave AtkinsDave Atkins (PCC Secretary) I attend the 11 o’clock service. Am a volunteer on a steam railway. Currently I am a deputy warden, secretary to the PCC and volunteer for Toddlers and Prime Time.



David HarveyDavid Harvey  (St John’s Hon Treasurer) He is a retired management accountant and also Financial Secretary of the New English Orchestra.  He is involved with the prayer ministry team and mainly attends the evening service.



Debby BridgeDebby Bridge (Church Warden) I attend all three services according to my Warden duties. My husband, John, and I lead and host a Home Group. I love being on the Freedom course team and arranging the church flowers. We have two married children and a grandson. I work part time as an NHS Dentist and love to play tennis.


Geoff HeyesGeoff Heyes (Vice Chair PCC) Geoff attends the 9.15am service.  He serves on the Welcome Team and runs the Freedom course with Antony. He works at the QE as a Medical Physicist in the radiotherapy department. Geoff has recently been appointed as one of our Parish Representatives involved in the apppointment process for St John’s new Vicar.


Helen NixonHelen Nixon  Helen has been at St John’s since 1966, with an 11 year gap when living elsewhere.  She is involved in a Home Group, the Visuals Team, various prayer groups, Churches Together in Harborne and Chaplaincy Plus; retired 2014. Member of Deanery Synod.



Howard BrydonHoward Brydon I have attended St John’s since 1990: 9-15am and 6-30pm services. I am on the video rota and co-lead a home group. I am married to Pat, have a daughter Becky and work as a neurosurgeon.



Issy BartramIssy Bartram I have been at St John’s almost 30 years. Initially I was a guide leader, then church warden and latterly mainly involved in PCC, its sub groups and Deanery synod. Since retiring from work I have become more involved in the local community and play a lot of golf.



James ReedJames Reed I usually attend the 9.15 service, with my wife Hannah and our three children.  At St John’s I am involved with technical work & PA, and also am interested in healing prayer.



Janet RylandJanet Ryland My current Church responsibilities include being one of the Deputy Wardens and a Welcome Team Leader. I am Chair of the PCC Human Resources Group and a member of the Living Stones Vocations Team. I usually attend the 9.15 service.  Janet has recently been appointed as one of our Parish Representatives involved in the apppointment process for St John’s new Vicar.



Jeremy ThompsonJeremy Thompson works for Restore supporting refugees in Birmingham.  He is married to Jo, and has 2 primary school aged children.  Jeremy is involved in the Christmas Tour, the Welcome team and a Home group. Attends 9.15am service.



Kenneth ReidKenneth Reid Since coming to St John’s in 1979, I have served in many lay-leadership roles including two periods as churchwarden and on PCC over many years. I am presently involved in supporting the Healing Prayer Centre.  Attends 11am service.



Lis WhybrowLis Whybrow I have been at St Johns since the early 1980s, spending five years at B1 church.   I am married to Rob and we have three children.  I work as a solicitor with the elderly and vulnerable.  I usually attend the 6.30 pm (or 11am) services.



Mark RoperMark Roper I have worshipped at St John’s for 10 years and I am a leader on the Authentic youth team. I am married to Jo and work as an anaesthetic doctor.



Patty McCullochPatty McCulloch Along with my husband, Ron, I normally attend the 9.15am service.  I am involved with Living Stones, the mission arm of St John’s.  I work with Friends International mobilising churches to reach and disciple international students.



Stella JenningsStella Jennings I usually attend 11am or 6.30pm services. I work in the Church Office as Communications Secretary on the staff team. I have been a guide leader for over 20years and lead a Home Group with John & Debby Bridge. Member of Deanery and Diocesan Synods.



Steve FosterSteve Foster serves on the staff team as St John’s Operations Manager. He is married to Catriona who is also a staff member. He attends PCC in his role of Operations Manager.



Sue CleggSue Clegg (Parish Safeguarding Officer) Sue attends 6.30 & 11am services. At St John’s Sue is involved with pastoral care, prayer ministry, leading Healing Prayer Centre and training to equip others to live and enjoy abundant lives.



Vinod DiwakarVinod Diwakar Vin is Medical Director of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. He is married to Kate, and has four children. He leads a Pathfinder group with Kate.  We attend the 915am service.
