Daniel Roberts (8 weeks old)
Tim and Katie ask for prayer for their 8 week old son Daniel. Tim writes… “give thanks for a rapid access gastroenterology service, we have an appointment at 9.30am tomorrow! Prayers appreciated for this – thanks so much”

Mike Hill and family

Pray for Mike & Rachel, Ellie, Abbie and James Hill after the news on Wednesday of the sudden death of Mike’s father. He had been in poor health but his death was unexpected.

Peter Paddock
Peter Paddock is in hospital recovering from heart surgery for a mitral valve repair. Please pray for Peter and Jenny to trust God as this time and that the operation would be a complete success.

Kathryn Paddock
Please pray for Peter and Jenny Paddock’s daughter, Kathryn who is in Central Africa with Tearfund. There is a lot of unrest and violence where she is and she was due to arrive home on Tuesday 29th September but the airport shut down. Prayer for Kathryn and her team’s safety and that they will be able to get home safely.

Martin and Stefanie Zaske
Stefanie has emailed to ask us to pray for Martin’s knee. Pray for good recovery following surgery on 18th of September.

Gerald Jones
Please pray for Gerald’s family especially for his sister Thelma Jones following his death on Wednesday 23rd September.

Frank Gregory and family
Gwen passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon 31st August. Please pray for Frank and all the family at this time.

Simon Martin
Brian and Christine would like to thank those who have prayed for their son, Simon, in his crisis. “Please give thanks to the Lord with us that Simon seems more settled and hopefully the crisis has been averted. Give thanks also that his psychiatrist has been very responsive and helpful. The care home, whilst struggling to meet his needs adequately, are working well with us on his behalf.

“Simon’s condition is ongoing and complex, and we value and appreciate any prayer you wish to make if you feel led to pray.”

Ripa and Roozbeh (members of St Mark’s, Smethwick)
Update from Jeremy Thompson: “The Home Office granted Ripa’s mother a 6-month visit visa and she is already here in the UK. This has been a great morale boost to Ripa and a huge answer to prayer. There is no change – yet – to Ripa’s health. She is awaiting further scans and medical appointments.”

Barry Blakemore
Pray for Barry who is poorly at home and undergoing a further course of treatment. Please pray for Yvonne as she cares for him and for their children Simon, Faith and Miriam.

Margaret Ball (wife of Sid Ball, mother of Sarah Ball)
Margaret is now at a nursing home in Handsworth Wood. Please pray for her continued recovery.

Des Cole
Des is recuperating at home following surgery to remove a tumour and section of his bowel. Cathy writes “Please keep praying for us – for strength, resilience, good sleep, wisdom in dealing with the rest of life …….. Des also has to make some decisions about work – please pray for wisdom about these.”

Delphine Nurse
Pray for Delphine as she recovers from an operation for breast cancer and is currently undergoing further treatment. She asks us to pray about the emotional and practical as well as the physical aspects of the situation for herself and also for her house-mate Jackie.

Lesley Osborn
Please pray for her general health.

Priscilla White (Area Dean and Vicar of St Faith and St Laurence)
Please pray for Priscilla recovering for surgery for cancer.


Thelma Jones
Thelma has now moved to the care home in Cotteridge. The address is 31 Middleton Hall Road, Kings Norton B30 1AB. Telephone 0121 624 0506. Please pray for her as she makes this her home.

The New Appointment Group
This group was selected at the PCC meeting on 20th July. The members are: Parish Representatives -Geoff Heyes, Janet Ryland. Church Wardens: Brennan Horne, Debby Bridge. Other members: Jeremy Thompson, Lis Whybrow. The group has begun the work of preparing the parish profile, as the process of appointing a new vicar commences. Please pray for them in the weeks ahead.
