Prime Time 2015 “The Good Old Days”

Prime Time 2015 was our 8th year of running a 3-day Holiday at Home for Over 70’s….

As in previous years it was great fun and a wonderful opportunity for people to enjoy company, entertainment, good food and just to relax as if on holiday. There were around 40 guests each day – some who are regular Sunday worshippers at St John’s, some who come to the monthly Midweek Communion service and others from the local community who we have come to know through things like the Monday Drop In at The Crossway. This year Prime Time had a theme of “The Good Old Days”, with various displays and a variety of old fashioned games, activities and quizzes. But of course we were right up to date too with one-to-one tuition on mobile phones, tablets and laptops. With the usual variety of activities and speakers, guests were spoilt for choice when it came to deciding how to spend each morning and afternoon. Yet despite so many choices, there was a relaxed feel to the 3 days which was really appreciated by the guests.

Here are some of their comments:

There were almost 50 volunteers involved in Prime Time – a superb team who gave of themselves and contributed in many different ways, serving the guests with love and care and ensuring that everything went smoothly. A huge thank you to them all, including those who prayed for this special event.
