Songs of Praise from Calais

Songs of Praise logoAs the immigration crisis in Calais continues, Sally Magnusson joins Christians in the migrant camp known as ‘The Jungle’.

The programme will be broadcast on Sunday 16th August at 5pm on BBC1 and will be available on BBC IPlayer shortly after the programme is aired.

Jeremy Thompson writes:

“Songs of Praise on Sunday 16th August will be from the refugee camp in Calais where the Eritreans and Ethiopians have made a make-shift church.

“There has been so much negative media recently that this could shed some positive light on the issue.  It is also an opportunity for us to show solidarity with our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters there.

“I don’t usually watch Songs of Praise but I will be recording this episode!  This seems a brave and bold move by the Songs of Praise team.”
