Pray for teachers from St John’s leading workshops with Malawi teachers

Prayer Pointers for the trip to Malawi
Sunday 9th August -Tuesday 25th August

  • Final preparations may go smoothly – planning of workshops, equipment & packing!
  • The team of seven quickly gel together, that we build good relationships between ourselves and with the Malawi teachers.
  • The workshops are relevant to the teachers, they are fun and that the teachers remember and use what is useful to them and their classes.
  • The teachers actively participate in the workshops and are willing to share their teaching experiences with others.
  • Families of the team left behind especially spouses and children – that they too will have a fun summer.
  • Safety in travel both in getting there and whilst travelling on rough African roads, good health whilst there, stamina and freedom from insect bites!
  • Finally but by no means least that we may all experience the presence of God and that we will be able to share His love with the Malawi teachers.

Members from St John’s who are going to Malawi are: Mike Down (leader); Dave and Angie Atkins; Caroline Porter; Ian Shelley; Lucy Ward.

Mike DownMike Down tells us about the purpose of the trip to Malawi
“This trip is to enable Malawian teachers from all over Malawi, to come together so that they can take part in a week of inspirational training and workshops facilitated by Birmingham teachers.

“It is a rare chance for some Malawian teachers to share and receive new skills and ideas in education as part of the Malawi-Birmingham Partnership.
