Prayer Ministry Training Morning – Saturday 10th October

Prayer ministry logoSue Clegg will be leading an initial training/equipping workshop session from 9 am to 1 pm, at St John’s.

Sue encourages you to put the date in your diary, and seek God whether He is calling you to be involved with one of these ministry teams, or it may be that you would like just to explore this ministry a bit more.

You may also be aware of someone else whom you could encourage over the summer to consider their calling.

The teaching aspects will include

  • An understanding of prayer in this kind of ministry
  • The place of spiritual gifts
  • Specific ‘models’ of prayer ministry
  • Learning to listen to God in prayer ministry settings
  • The dignity of the individual
  • Basic insights into human problems likely to be encountered
  • Learning to be responsive to the Holy Spirit

Prayer Ministry teamThe best learning is experienced ‘on-the-job’ or in a workshop setting because it’s important for it to be more than a theoretical exercise.

Prayer Ministry takes place on various occasions at St John’s – during or following a service or other events, especially after 6.30pm Sunday service; at ‘Healing on the Streets’ on a Saturday near Iceland on the High Street; at the Healing Prayer Centre at The Crossway on Tuesday afternoon / evenings, when there is a little more time for a Guest to share their need; and on other occasions from time to time at events held at church.
