‘In every season He is faithful’ – Mary Hudson reports on her time in East Asia

Mary Hudson “For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Mary Hudson, and I was a member of St John’s for five years from 2007.  Since I then have been a Living Stones short-term partner, serving in East Asia.

“I went to serve on a team reaching out to returnees (people returning from studying overseas) and  I also spent time learning the language and teaching English.  I have recently returned to the UK.

“Now nearly three months on from leaving East Asia, I look back with much thankfulness to God for the incredible privilege of having that experience.

“I saw His faithfulness and breath-taking goodness in so many ways: the provision of wonderful friends; encouragements in seeing people grow in their faith; opportunities to share the Gospel with people who’ve never heard; the excitement and fun of daily life in another culture; the joy of team-work and community…

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear Presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow:
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

“I am so thankful to God for the ways that He has abundantly blessed me through the church family of St John’s.

“Through your love and encouragement, prayers and support, God has changed me from being an anxious, homesick fresher back in 2009, to being, though still sinful and weak, more reliant on and confident in His goodness, wisdom, faithfulness, and saving and transforming power.

“With heartfelt thanks for your partnership in the Gospel.”

‘But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.’ 2 Corinthians 4: 7
