News from the Debt Strand at The Crossway

thecrosswaysliderWe’re delighted to report that Dave Robertson took over the leadership of the Debt Advice Team from 1st April.

The transfer of the leadership role has come at an ideal time since:

  1. We are now authorised and regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and were required to be compliant with additional rules and procedures by 31st March
  2. We successfully migrated to a new version of our bespoke software used for case management called Catalyst on 26th March.  The soft ware is internet based and means we can access it from any device with internet access (and appropriate security passwords of course). This enables us to work from home or at a client’s address if we are making a home visit.

We have further good news in that Dave Schofield has recently joined the team and two more people have expressed an interest in joining.

However, we still need more volunteers as unfortunately the demand for debt advice is growing.

Last year, 2014, we nearly doubled the number of new clients to over one per week and earlier this year we had to stop taking any more clients for two months so that we could adequately deal with the backlog of open cases.

If you are interested in joining the team please contact Dave Robertson.
