CONNECT Women’s evening with Sue Clegg – 6th February

Sue Clegg in AntarcticaFriday 6th February, 7.45pm to 9.30pm at St John’s

‘Royal Appointment’

Sue has just written a book about her long term connection with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.  This is how the book is described:

‘Over 40 years association with the Duke of Edinburgh`s Award has taken Sue from the mud of Wales as a participant, to the far reaches of the world as ambassador and President of the Inter-Award (Duke of Edinburgh International) for the past seven years.  Sue’s encounters have provided a story to tell from meeting folk in Royal palaces, to those in shanty towns and in the jungle.

‘The newly released book ‘Royal Appointment’ (£12.95) provides a stirring account of tales of adventure, tales of courage, and tales of hope from a former police officer who wishes to see young people given a chance to change the world, starting with themselves and the Award.’

Royal Appointment book cover‘Royal Appointment’ will be available to buy during the evening by cash or cheque.

CONNECT  evenings provide an opportunity to invite friends, neighbours and colleagues who might not otherwise come to church.
Refreshments are served from 7.15pm and the programme starts at 7.45pm, and finishes by 9.30pm.

CONNECT on 6th February will allow Sue to tell us about her experiences from a different angle and looks to be an inspiring evening of storytelling and photographs from all over the world.

Sue is involved in various ministries in the life of St John’s Church including the role of Parish Safeguarding Children’s Coordinator.
Sue also oversees the work of the Healing Prayer Centre. She loves to see changed lives as she uses her counselling and pastoral gifts to encourage people in their walk with God.

CONNECT evenings are free events arranged by the Women’s Ministry team.
