Are you a volunteer at St John’s? Checkout the Safeguarding Sessions in the new year

Hands togetherChurch Safeguarding Training

for ALL involved in

Children’s Ministry
Youth Ministry
Older people and vulnerable people’s ministry.

If volunteering in one of these ministries, you MUST attend Church Safeguarding training at least every 3 years. The following session is still available in the first quarter of 2015

  • Monday 9th March  – 7.45pm to 9.15pm in the Upper Room

If you are a volunteer and haven’t previously attended a session this year, you NEED to book this session to familiarize yourself with St.John`s safeguarding policy and procedures.
This is particularly important if you have started serving in the last couple of years and therefore haven’t been to such a session at St John’s previously.

If unable to attend this in-house session at church, you will be provided with Diocesan training dates to fulfil the requirements.

Sue CleggEmail Sue Clegg ( to confirm your attendance, indicating the area of ministry(s) you are serving in, as soon as possible before 9th March.

NB Attendance at a training session will enable you to be appropriately signed off, and continue to volunteer in your role, otherwise you will not be able to continue volunteering.

This requirement brings us into line with Church of England’s national guidelines and practice on Safeguarding.

Though much of the training is common to all groups, it will be slanted towards the majority participants where appropriate.
