Inviting Disciples – Bishop’s Lay Conference

Inviting Disciples logo

Saturday November 15th at Birmingham University.

Bishop David’s aim is that participants will be equipped to attract others to the Christian faith by their words and life-style,through sharing something of what lies at the heart of their faith and by encouraging others to come to faith themselves.

Several hundred church members are expected to attend Inviting Disciples, representing churches from across the Birmingham Diocese.

The programme will include a time of worship, Bible teaching and talks by significant speakers.
The afternoon will be devoted to cell groups giving participants the opportunity to share with others how God has impacted their lives in various ways. It is anticipated that there will be about 120 cell groups.

Please pray for those from St John’s who are attending this important event and for Gill McIlwaine and Beccy Allen, who have been asked to be cell group facilitators.

Pray for those participants for whom sharing their faith will be a new experience.

Pray for Bishop David as he sees this as part of the outworking of his vision for an increase in Christian discipleship throughout the diocese.
