Prime Time 2014

‘a heart-warming experience’… ‘I enjoyed every minute’… ‘To people living on their own – such a tonic and fun’… ‘how welcome I felt’

This year’s Prime Time – our ‘Holiday at Home’ for Over 70’s took the theme of a cruise.  So on each of the 3 days, 50 first-class passengers plus almost as many crew sailed away on the Prime Princess.  There was plenty of on-board entertainment including deck games, music, dance, talks, art, gentle exercises, computer tuition, comedy DVD and discussion as well as time to relax, chat and of course enjoy a 3-course meal in the ‘Seven Seas Restaurant’.  On the 3rd day, all our guests were invited to the Captain’s Table and many dressed for the occasion and had their photograph taken with the Captain. The Ship’s Chaplain (aka Antony) ended each day with a brief Thought about the ‘Captain of our souls’ and the week finished with a short service which included some Tamil worship dance and the singing of the hymn ‘Will your anchor hold in the storms of life?’

It was a fantastic week and many of the guests said that they felt as though they really were on holiday.  Grateful thanks to the hard-working crew – 60 in total, including the drivers and cooks.
