Encouragement …

60033472_8079ea25a6_o three crosses… from a visitor who happened to come along to the Farewell Service for Jon Tattersall on Sunday 31st August at 6.30pm.

This is what she wrote:

I came to the evening service today. I wanted to let you know my impressions of St John’s as a (Christian) visitor.

A deep and joyful sense of God’s love and grace permeated the whole service. I was blessed and healed by attending the service.

I also witnessed an amazing example of the way obedience to God and passion for loving God and loving people leads to blessing for individuals and the whole church.

The mutual support and encouragement within the leadership team taught me something about what Christian ministry needs to look like if we are to be recognised as Jesus’ followers (love each other as I have loved you), and if we as the Church are to reach those who haven’t met Jesus yet.

I heard several references to difficulties in recent years, please be encouraged that the light of God’s love is shining very brightly in your church and I feel privileged to have been part of it for one evening.

May our gracious God continue to bless you all, Clare.
