To demonstrate the love of Christ…to people with financial worries

The Crossway Reception

Brian Norden and Adele Cheatle

Our mission is “To demonstrate the love of Christ … by providing support and guidance, both practical and spiritual, to people with financial worries”

The debt strand at The Crossway has been delivering debt advice since early 2010 and we’ve helped clients with debts totalling over £1,000,000.

We receive referrals from family support teams, housing associations, probation service, churches, our MP and from other ministries of St Johns – so much so that we’re struggling to meet the demand.

If you have a heart to help those in need we’d love to talk to you.
We need:

  • Reception administration support – for the whole team
  • Debt counsellors – support to the advisers and clients both during interview and an opportunity for on-going pastoral care, on a regular basis.
  • Debt advisers – help with budgeting issues and development of options, involving a weekly commitment.

Above all else we need committed empathetic listeners. Training will be provided for the specific role chosen by you.

Would you like to explore the possibility of serving in the ministry of the Debt Advice Service at The Crossway?
